    Tajmahal located at Agra situated on the bank of the river Yamuna.Agra is town in uttarpradesh state, in India.The mughal emperor Shahjahan, ruled from 1628 to 1658 and was married to arjumad Bano begam in 1612 AD. After marriage Shah Jahan change her name `Mumtaj Mahal` means crown of palece.The love between them  very natural and by heart, so queen accompanied with every ware also in war. They had 14 children.

           During trip to Deccan(middle India) where shahjahan went to war with Janab ali Lodhi,Mumtaj breathed her last breath on 17 June 1631 during her fourteenth childbirth. On her deathbed mumtaj asked for four promises. The first one being that shahjahan build monument of love for her keeping the promises.

Shahjahn began the construction of Tajmahal meaning `Crown Plazza`.

          Her body temporary buried at burhanpur and in six month time her body was shifted to agra and again temporary buried in guest house near Tajmahal.

A plot was acquired from raja mansingh on the river side for the purpose of constructing the tajmahal. The site was chosen because it was located on the bend in the river and clearly seen from shahajahan`s fort where shahajahan lived.

 

Construction of tajmahal.

After acquired land from Raja mansingh sahajahan build a place mumtazabad for labour,now called as Tajganj.For construction of Tajmahal  sculptors,masons,craftmass and calligraphers were called from Persia. The calligrapher of Tajmahal was Amanat Khan shiraj whose name occurs at the end of the one gate. The poet Ghyasuddin make tomb stone,Ismile khan Afridi from Turkey make a dom,Supritadent of masons was Muhammad Hanif.The structure is desined by Ustad Ahmad Lahauri.There are over 20000 workers full day and night. The material for the construction brought from all over India and central Asia.

For this purpose 1000 elephant used. Red sand stone was brought from fatepur shikri,Jasper from punjab,Jade and crystal from china,Turquoise from tibet,Lapas Lazuli and Sapphire from shri lanka,coal and cornelion from arebia,White marble from makrana in rajasthan.

The Taj stands not only for love, romance and passion, it also represents beauty, grace, proportion and synchronization. Made entirely of white marble, with elegant inlay work of precious and semi-precious stones called pietra dura, Taj Mahal is epitome of purity. with delicate work of pietra dura. Taj Mahal was adorned with 43 different varieties of gems including Bloodstone, Corals, Garnet, Mother-of-Pearl, Onyx, Rare Shells, Sapphire and Topaz

To enter the Taj Mahal, you have to pass through an equally grand arched gateway built of red sandstone and inspired by the Bulund Darwaza. The entrance gates have always had special importance in Islamic architecture as they are also built as beautiful as the main edifice because an entrance gate is a symbolic representation of the gateway to the Paradise

 

                       This beautiful monument was build at the cost of 22 million rupees.The major construction of Taj based on Jannat  means paradise The heavan based on squae plinth the base is very large nearly 56 meters x 56 meters and 6.7 meters  high and area is 95 Sq. meter.There are four towers called minarath each corner of the plinth each mirarath is 46 meters high.On each plinth letter writing on it  The name of Allah – There are 99 names of Allah ware written.

In middle of Taj dom is placed about 73 meter toll.In entarence gateway you can see a garden in front of Tajmahal .This garden is Persian style means four garden plan.The entire area of Tajmahal complex is 580 meters  X   300 meters. Area.

                              The taj start to build 1632 and completed 1653. The tomb of both originally in basement but on top flower only for show tomb is constructed. There are two buildings each side of taj made from sandstone these are exactly  mirror image of each one is masque another is guest house Where is mumtaj buried first time.
